Welcome to the Electroactive Materials Characterization Laboratory website

The Electroactive Materials Characterization group research focuses on processing-microstructure-property relationships in smart materials with the goal of developing new materials with unique combinations of mechanical, electrical, and coupled properties for uses that range from advanced electronic devices and autonomous system concepts to the aerospace, automotive, medical and consumer industries. The main research thrusts of the group are active polymers and polymer nanocomposites; processing and characterization of polymer nanocomposites.

Amira Barhoumi Meddeb received Amelia Earhart Fellowship Award

On October 30th 2009, Amira Barhoumi Meddeb received Amelia Earhart Fellowship Award in a ceremony held in Holidays Inn in Brownsville, Texas. During this ceremony, Amira have presented her research to Zonta International committee members.

 


 

Ounaies and Electrically Conductive Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposite Development Team wins the Technology Transfer Award

Zoubeida Ounaies and her NASA Langley collaborators, members of the Electrically Conductive Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposite Development Team, were selected for the 2009 Richard T. Whitcomb and Paul F. Holloway Technology Transfer Award. The award was presented in a ceremony on June 3 at NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA.

Alexander Pankonien is awarded TAMU IGERT fellowship

The undergraduate student Alexander Pankonien is awarded a TAMU IGERT fellowship. Alexander will join EMCL group as a graduate student Fall 09.
